CROSSING BORDERS

Crossing Borders (CB) is a non-profit, non-partisan civil society organization.  The vision of CB is a world in peace with itself in which diversity is celebrated. The mission is to create dialogue space toward such a world and to build the capacity of youth, media workers and educators realize the above vision. The overall goal is to enable people with different backgrounds to learn to live together on equal terms.

Crossing Borders started as a project in 1999 in Denmark in support of meaningful dialogue between the conflict parties in the Middle East. In response to increased activities and demands for the CB concept and services, it was transformed, in 2004, into a dynamic organization with activities in Denmark and abroad.

CB activities comprise four programs:

  • Global school services for high and primary schools in Denmark

  • Global Studies at Krogerup Hajskole

  • International projects

  • Volunteer program

And additional programs:

  • Teacher conferences

  • Publications of educational materials, youth magazine and newsletters

CB provides youth with platforms to cross-fertilize ideas and to form global associates, networks and communities worldwide. In a learning environment, where all participants are encouraged to grow and learn from one another, we enable young people to share their best ideas, best products and best practices.

Through engagement and dialogue, we provide space for the youth to:

  • Gain leadership skills to take action

  • Understand the nature and implication of migration

  • Turn climate challenges into opportunities

  • Turn diversity into an asset

  • Share and engaging in good social practices

  • Build a worldwide community of youth inclined towards inclusiveness and fairness in a global context
